Dog-friendly policy, spacious rooms, unique meal vouchers
Old and tired decor needs a serious overhaul!!! Poor housekeeping services plus noisy surroundings. Fix the faulty locks and consider better signage for confused guests, please!!!

The unit was perfectly clean.
Booked a room with good bathroom facilities. Thoroughly enjoyed that we had a kettle, central heating and a work desk. In general the service was good.

Location right by restaurants as well as the nearby canal. Unbeatable and excellent location, huge queen room with a springy mattress and a bath plus missing fridge. Superfriendly staff with great local knowledge.

Bubblegum pink as a color choice for carpets might have been cute in 1980, but they are definitly overdue for a serious update. A working fan in the bathroom woudl ve been a minimum expectation, yet i found myself sweltering in there! It's almost as if they don't want guests to be comfortable. I almost gave a good review, but just couldn't.

We stayed at this hotel simply due to location for our onward journey the following day. The hotel was fair, the rooms were clean enough but could do with a slight face lift! The staff on front desk were very pleasant - probably the best thing about the hotel.
The rooms are looking tired, the bathroom was clean but needs new panelling behind the toilet & wash basin, also the bathroom door didn't shut properly - there is a sign on the bathroom door asking guests to close during showering as steam can set off the smoke alarms! ...no good if the door doesn't close properly! The smoke alarms were actually set off whilst we were there... I don't know if this was a drill or because somebodies bathroom door didn't close properly!

The room was clean and well-maintained, but the bed was too soft for my liking.

Functional, comfortable hotel
A lot of traffic noise from the close proximity of the m1. Appalling sign- age from the northbound lane at teh service station. Access is via 2 lanes in which you have to contravene no entry signs in order to cross the m1 by a bridge and 2 access roads

The hotel offered great value for money, especially considering its proximity to the motorway. The room featured a comfortable bed, made my sleep much better, despite some noise disturbance from the adjoining rooms. The parking was convenient as I could park right outside my door. On the downside, the bathroom could use a thorough clean. The tiles looked a bit grimy. I noticed the decor was old and tired, which gave the room an outdated feel. The check-in was simple and efficient, but a better signage from the northbound M1 access would be helpful to avoid confusion as I found myself lost initially. The stay was decent, but improvements in cleanliness and decoration would enhance the experience.

Near M1. Friendly staff. Adequate facilities for one nights stay to break a long journey
It was difficult to find when coming off Northbound M1. better sign posting would be helpful and an indication on website which side of motorway it is on

Very helpful staff, nice room, very quiet considering it is a motorway hotel. No noise from other rooms either.
The hotel itself is very hard to find. Directions are virtually Nil. We had to go back and start again three times and ask directions four times in a 200yd raduius!!!! Sat Nav directions are even worse...sending you back down the motorway!!!!!!!!! Would recommend anyone to phone the reception and get DEFINATE directions. Also the hotel is on the southbound carriageway which was not obvious from our paperwork. As we were on the northbound carriageway, we were not aware that we had to get OVER the road.

The Italian pasta near the hotel was a true highlight, bursting with flavour and cooked to perfection. We were lucky to have Carole, who also provided us with some great local snacks like "haribo"-a good twist! The room was spacious and tidy.
On the downside, I pressed the button to exit northbound but got no response, forcing me to head a bit south first. What a minor hassle, but the overall experience still shined bright!

Everything - the service area location was not as much of a problem as I expected for noise and the room was excellent for the money - Yes I had to eat in the service area restaurant but that was ok if a little expensive but the hotel has a deal where for £7.50 you get a voucher worth £10 to spend in the restaurant which made eating there afordable. The receptionist was excellent and vey helpful. This was a last minute booking due to a change of plans but if I need a hotel in the Watford area again I would book this Days Inn
